About Child Talk

Children across the autism spectrum can struggle with challenging delays in receptive and expressive language, auditory processing issues, learning disabilities, coordination, and difficulty making social connections with peers.  They may also have emotional issues and abstract reasoning problems that directly affect their ability to communicate and to understand the perspectives of others.  It is difficult for these children to read subtle language cues (gesture, facial expression, body language, and voice intonation).  In spite of these difficulties, they have many gifts as well as the courage to learn.  I believe they can improve and get better.

After working with these children for over 30 years, I have learned to fit speech and language therapy into play therapy––sometimes in a quiet office setting and often outside at a farm, pond, or school playground.

Child Talk Foundation
(preparing to form a 501c3 foundation)

We are asking for pledges to Child-Talk in order to establish a foundation to carry out these goals:

  1. provide scholarships for teachers to attend workshops on special needs
  2. develop & refine workshops for training teachers, parents/specialists
  3. develop and supply individualized materials for low income children with special needs

Please send a check payable to “Child Talk Foundation” and mail to the office address on the left.
